In a bid to keep a lid on the pharmaceutical industry, a panel of experts in the United States is investigating whether the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is cracking down on erectile dysfunction drugs.
The panel of experts in the United States has asked a number of questions about the FDA's recent decision to ban the sale of Viagra and other drugs that treat erectile dysfunction.
The FDA is not the only one considering the question.
The panel of experts is expected to weigh in on whether Viagra should be allowed to be sold only in certain approved drug areas.
It is not yet clear whether Viagra is safe for use in the U. S. because it does not contain the active ingredient sildenafil or other similar drugs, said panel member Susan O'Mara, the company's vice president for business strategy.
"We've had a lot of reports of these products being sold in certain areas," she said. "If there is any doubt, then we would recommend that there be a regulatory pathway for these products to be sold in a way that does not violate the law."
The FDA will take a number of steps to ensure that Viagra is not made available to people who have certain health conditions that the FDA does not have jurisdiction to treat.
But the panel is not expected to take into account the FDA's recent decision to ban its use of Viagra.
"We've said for quite a long time that we'd like to put Viagra on the market. We're also very concerned about it being made for this purpose," O'Mara said. "So we are concerned about it not being approved by the FDA and the agency has not had a chance to do a lot of that work. So it will not be right for our industry."
A spokesperson for the FDA said the company would "review our investigation and evaluate the company's operations and procedures regarding this matter."
In its report, FDA spokeswoman Lyndsay Meyer said the company has not received any reports of adverse events related to the ban on Viagra.
"We have been very careful in our review and we will look at the evidence of what we believe will be the most appropriate and effective approach for our company," she said. "Our agency will review the safety and efficacy of Viagra for consumers and patients, as well as the safety and efficacy and efficacy of other drugs."
The FDA's review of Viagra is currently ongoing, but experts said the company is still taking the lead in its investigation.
